Central Ohio Vision and Eyecare (COVE) is committed to making our website accessible to every patient and visitor, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to find an eye doctor, schedule an exam, and learn about our services regardless of how they use the web.

The standard we work to

Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard most U.S. courts and federal agencies use to evaluate website accessibility. We review our website regularly against this standard and work to fix issues as we find them.

What we’ve done

  • We use a content management system (WordPress) and theme that support keyboard navigation and screen readers.
  • We add descriptive alternative text to images so they can be read by screen readers.
  • We organize each page with proper heading structure so visitors using assistive technology can navigate easily.
  • We test the site periodically with accessibility tools and address issues we find.

What we’re working on

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time project. We are currently improving:

  • Alternative text on older site images.
  • Heading hierarchy on pages built before our current standard.
  • Form labels on the contact and appointment forms.
  • Captions and titles on embedded maps and videos.

How to report an accessibility issue

If you encounter a barrier on our website, please tell us. We will respond within five business days and do our best to provide the information or service you need in an accessible format.

Email: office@cove-na.com
Phone: (614) 933-0575
Mail: 6772 New Albany–Condit Rd, New Albany, OH 43054

Please include the web address (URL) of the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you were using if any.

Third-party content

Some content on our website (online scheduling, embedded maps, third-party patient portals) is provided by other companies. We have limited control over the accessibility of those tools. If you experience a barrier with any third-party tool, please contact us — we will help you complete the task another way and will share the issue with the vendor.
