“LacriPure is a unit-dose non-preserved, 0.9% NaCl (normal saline) solution indicated for rinsing soft, ridged gas permeable and hybrid contact lenses prior to insertion. The sterile saline solution is also indicated for filling scleral lenses prior to insertion.”
LacriPure is a moisturizing buffer for our scleral lens wearers. Some rigid, hybrid or soft contact lenses have regular instances of dryness, cloudiness, difficulty of insertion or removal. Solutions such as LacriPure are formulated to not only disinfect and clean prior to lens insertion but as a rinse utilized throughout the day.
LacriPure is preservative free, which is tremendously important. It is what we call an “unbuffered” solution – purified water and sodium chloride are the only two ingredients!
